Big Brother Contestant Caroline Given Formal Warning Over 'Offensive' Comment To Trans Housemate Zelah
Caroline and Zelah during Tuesday's edition of Big BrotherBig Brother housemate Caroline Monk has been given a formal warning over her “offensive and unacceptable” remarks towards a fellow contestant.During Tuesday night’s highlights show, the group took part in a game of spin the bottle, during which Nancy Nocerino was asked by Caroline: “If you could shag anyone in the House… no, no we’re on a desert island, there is one person left, you might be able to make babies to get a new civilisation, who would you shag?”Nancy then questioned if she had to choose a male housemate, as other members of the group pointed out she is pansexual, at which point Zelah Glasson suggested she just answer who she is most attracted to in the house.Following this, Nancy responded with Zelah, who recently disclosed to his housemates that he is trans, to which Caroline exclaimed: “She’s a girl!”“No, you’re not,” Caroline quickly responded. “But you haven’t got a willy, have you?”As other contestants voiced their disapproval, she continued: “Oh, is that really bad? I was talking about… I’m so sorry, Ze, is that bad? Oh no, I’m dead now. Caroline, any repeated use of this type of language or behaviour could lead to your removal from the house.”Caroline then responded that she agreed with Big Brother’s judgement, and conceded that she’d said “a horrible thing”.Caroline receiving her formal warning from Big Brother“I don’t know where it came from. I can’t excuse myself. If I had an excuse I’d say but I don’t have one,” she said. “I’m sorry to everyone out there and I’m sorry to everyone in here. I will make sure I apologise profusely to everyone because I can see the disappointment in everyone’s eyes.”She lamented: “I was having such a lovely time, more than lovely. I’ve gone and ruined everything.
