Brian Cox at the Emmys in January 2024Sir Brian Cox has announced he’s postponing his first ever solo tour so he can focus on resting. The Succession star had planned to kick off his first ever one-man show It’s All About Me! in Northampton in October, before embarking on an 18-date tour. However, speaking to BBC Newscast at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Sir Brian admitted that he was too “tired” to go ahead with the intended tour dates after what he described as an especially “heavy year” of work.Per The Courier, the 79-year-old said: “I’m tired. [The tour was supposed to start] in October and the first film I’ve directed is going to the Toronto Film Festival [in September]. I’ll do it sometime, but I just thought [October] was too soon.”“I’ve had a heavy year,” the Emmy nominee added. “It’s been a very busy year and I just thought, ‘I can’t be doing it’.”A synopsis for It’s All About Me! previously teased: “One of the greatest actors of his generation, Brian Cox is now a household name due to his embodiment of the infamous character Logan Roy from the international hit Succession, which won him a Golden Globe. But even more extraordinary than any of the characters he has played, is his own life story.“In his first ever one man show, It’s All About Me!, Brian takes us from the backstreets of Dundee to starring in Hollywood blockbusters, a journey full of laughter and pathos. Expect candour, searing honesty, and hilarious stories. Not known for pulling his punches, an evening with Brian Cox is like no other.”The tour’s official website now encourages fans to “check back for 2026 dates”.So far this year, Sir Brian has lent his voice to the Netflix adventure movie The Electric State and the US comedy-horror The Parenting. His directorial debut Glenrothan, which he also produced and stars in, will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in the autumn. The film – which also features performances from Alan Cumming, Shirley Henderson and Alexandra Shipp – centres around a Scottish man who returns from abroad after 35 years to try and mend a family rift.As well as his on-screen work, Sir Brian recently ended a run in the play Make It Happen.READ MORE:Brian Cox Accuses 'Idiot' Donald Trump Of 'Talking B*****ks' Over Scottish IndependenceSuccession Star Brian Cox Slams The Bible As ‘One Of The Worst Books Ever’Sir Brian Cox Addresses Rehearsal Outburst That Led To Him Being Reported To Actors' Union
