Channing Tatum Talks 'Painful' Split From Jenna Dewan And Reveals Where Things Stand For Them Now

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan were married for nearly 10 years.Channing Tatum has made a rare comment about his tumultuous divorce from his Step Up co-star, Jenna Dewan.The former couple, who were married for almost 10 years, finally finalised their divorce in 2024, six years after Jenna first filed to end their marriage. “Jenna and I are good now, but it was a painful break to have that fall apart, especially being so young,” Channing said in an interview with Variety, published earlier this week.“We tried to keep it together, tried for a year and a half,” he said. The two eventually parted ways in 2018. “It’s in the past,” he added, before talking about co-parenting with his ex. “But it’s really tough not to have your daughter half the time. I wish I could just have her all the time.” Channing has shared his thoughts on the break-up before, calling it “probably exactly what I needed”.“I don’t think I would’ve ever done the work, I think, on myself in the way that I had to do the work on myself to really try to figure out what’s next,” he said in a 2023 interview with Vanity Fair.He added: “I think we told ourselves a story when we were young, and we just kept telling ourselves that story, no matter how blatantly life was telling us that we were so different.”Channing met Jenna on the set of their hit movie, Step Up, in 2006. They got married three years later, and share one child together, a 13-year-old daughter named Everly. Jenna moved on with her now-fiancé, Steve Kazee, whom she shares two children with. Channing was previously engaged to actor Zoë Kravitz, but the two called things off in 2024.
