Chappell Roan Has A Message For Anyone Growing Impatient For Her Next Album

Chappell Roan Has A Message For Anyone Growing Impatient For Her Next Album
Chappell RoanWhile it’s hardly been a deluge of new material, 2025 has already seen Chappell Roan releasing twice as many new songs as she did the year before.True, that is two songs compared to last year’s one, but we’ll take what we can from the Midwest Princess. However, if you thought the recent release of Chappell’s singles The Giver and The Subway might indicate that there’s a full album on the way, we’re afraid we have some disappointing news.Speaking to Vogue, Chappell made it clear: “The second project doesn’t exist yet. There is no album. There is no collection of songs.”The Grammy winner continued: “It took me five years to write [The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess, Chappell’s debut album], and it’s probably going to take at least five to write the next. I’m not that type of writer that can pump it out.”While fans might lament this long wait, the Pink Pony Club singer insisted that it’s actually in their best interest.“I don’t think I make good music whenever I force myself to do anything,” she pointed out. “I see some comments sometimes, like, ‘She’s everywhere except that damn studio.’ Even if I was in the studio 12 hours a day, every single day, that does not mean that you would get an album any faster.”View this post on InstagramA post shared by Vogue (@voguemagazine)Of course, many music fans are still discovering Chappell’s old material, after her debut album didn’t properly blow up until around a year after its release. Her signature hit Pink Pony Club, meanwhile, finally topped the UK singles chart back in March, five years after its release.Since her rise to prominence, Chappell has been a vocal advocate for doing things on her own terms, previously hitting back at calls for her to release a music video for her single Good Luck, Babe! last year.Earlier this year, Chappell picked up the coveted Best New Artist title at the Grammys, calling out music executives for the way that burgeoning artists are treated in her acceptance speech, which quickly created ripples within the industry.Watch the music video for Chappell Roan’s new single The Subway below, and read her full interview in Vogue.READ MORE:Chappell Roan Says She Only Wanted To Sing Country Music Until She Heard This 2000s Pop BangerWe Can't Stop Watching This Clip Of Chappell Roan And Elton John's Pink Pony Club DuetChappell Roan Shared A Message To The Trans Community On Grammys Red Carpet
