David Tennant Speaks Out About Neil Gaiman's Good Omens Exit After Sexual Abuse Allegations

David Tennant as seen during his interview on The AssemblyDavid Tennant has spoken for the first time about the allegations against Neil Gaiman, as he prepares for one last outing in the TV series that he created.The former Doctor Who star plays Crowley in Good Omens, which is based on the Terry Pratchett novel of the same name, and which Gaiman co-wrote and served on as showrunner until his abrupt exit last year, which came after five women came forward accusing him of sexual assault and abuse.Gaiman has denied all allegations of non-consensual sexual activity, including accusations made by four more women since his departure from Good Omens.One last feature-length episode of Good Omens is currently in the works, with Gaiman no longer being listed as an executive producer.During a recent interview on The Assembly – in which different celebrity guests face a grilling from an audience of people with autism, learning disabilities or other neurodivergences – David was put on the spot about the future of Good Omens in light of the Gaiman allegations.“Someone you’ve worked with, a friend, has been cancelled for some quite serious allegations,” the audience member began. “How has that affected you?”David then asked him to specify who they meant, to which they responded: “He worked on Good Omens and that’s been stopped, and how has that affected you?”“We’re doing Good Omens again,” the Rivals actor clarified. “We’re doing a finale… there’s a slight rejig with the personnel. But we still get to tell that story.”David added: “I think it would have been very difficult to leave it on a cliffhanger.
