Does Ms Rachel Put Her Show On For Her Kids? We've Finally Got The Answer

Ms Rachel“I wonder if Ms Rachel’s kids watch Ms Rachel,” a friend said to me. I’m glad she did because it’s a question I’ve thought more than a few times. My kids love Ms Rachel. I do, too. She has afforded me 10 minutes here and there to make dinner for my hangry kids, distracting them with her sing-song voice and bubbly personality. We’re certainly not alone. The parenting YouTuber (turned Netflix star) has over 14 million subscribers and her own toy range. She is loved by children the world over.In an adorable video uploaded to Instagram on 29 April, the YouTuber – whose name is Rachel Griffin Accurso – could be heard saying “mama” to her smiling baby, Susannah, who she welcomed earlier this year via surrogacy. “Imagine you come out and your mom is Ms Rachel,” said one person in the comments section.Another replied: “I’ve got a question, do you put you on the TV for her?”My friend and I clearly aren’t the only ones who want to know – the latter comment had almost 3,000 likes at the time of writing. So, does Ms Rachel let her kids watch her show?Of course she does! Well, her eldest has been known to watch her show, anyway. In response to the comment on her Instagram, the YouTuber suggested when Susannah is six months old she’ll “do a little Ms Rachel”.She added that her son watched it as a toddler “until he realised there were other shows” at which point she said he would retort: “Not mommy’s show.”Ms Rachel has previously opened up about how her son Thomas experienced a speech delay, which inspired her to start filming her YouTube series in the first place.“His first word was at 2 years and 8 months – and it was mama,” she told Today.“I had waited for that for so long and, as a parent, you want to do anything you can to help them – and it’s not our fault when our child has a speech delay.”At the time, Ms Rachel searched online for ways she could help him, but swiftly realised there were very few resources out there.“A lot of things I teach are things I wish I had known for my son,” she added. The influencer, who is a former teacher, creates her videos with the help of her husband Aron Accurso, who has worked on Broadway. The UK doesn’t have specific limits on screen time for babies and toddlers, however the World Health Organisation (WHO) advises no screen time for children aged 0-2 years old.For children aged 2-4 years old, the advice is for them to have up to one hour of screen time a day.Related...I Believed My Baby Was Going To Die – Now I Want To Help Parents With Allergy AnxietyPsychologist Shares 1 Mistake Parents Make After Tantrums And SquabblesDo Parents Actually Want Kids Watching Adolescence In School?
