Donald Trump Or Dr Evil? US President Brutally Mocked By The Daily Star Over BBC Row

President Donald Trump is reminding a lot of people of one rather famous villain after his demands towards the BBC.Donald Trump’s attempts to sue the BBC for $1billion has made him something of a laughing stock because of one rather unflattering comparison. The US president set his lawyers on the corporation after the BBC was accused of “doctoring” a Panorama episode which showed Trump’s speech to his supporters ahead of the January 6 Capitol riots in 2020.Trump’s legal team wants the BBC to apologise, issue a retraction and “appropriately compensate” the president – to the tune of a billion big ones, no less. The BBC has until Friday at 10pm to respond to his threat. But the president did not have to wait that long to see what the public response was.The front page of the Daily Star on Tuesday said it all by comparing Trump to none other than Dr Evil, the main antagonist in the Austin Powers series.Dr Evil – played by Mike Myers – is a parody of villain from James Bond films, and usually tries to take over the world. In one particularly famous clip from the 1997 classic, ′Austin Powers – International Man of Mystery’, Dr Evil suggests holding the world ransom for $1 million – only realising that number alone does not sound impressive enough, quickly bumping it up to $100 billion.Trump’s call for $1billion from the publicly-funded BBC – belonging to one of America’s closest allies – clearly struck the Daily Star as a fair comparison.Tuesday's STAR: One billion dollars #TomorrowsPapersTodaypic.twitter.com/UG6P2bH3Q8— Louis O'Brien (@Lou_obrien19) November 10, 2025And the Star was not the only one, either, judging by the response on X....Breaking- Trump's lawyers send threatening letter to the BBC.
