Donald Trump Says Vladimir Putin 'Bombs Everybody' In Latest Blast At Russian President

Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in 2018.Donald Trump has said Vladimir Putin “bombs everybody” despite giving the impression that he is interested in peace.In his latest swipe at his Russian counterpart, the US president said he “talks nice” and then does the complete opposite.He spoke out as he confirmed that America is sending more Patriot missiles to help Ukraine defend itself, although he said they will be paid for by the European Union.“I haven’t agreed on the number yet but they’re going to have some because they do need protection,” Trump said″[President Putin] talks nice and then he bombs everybody in the evening.”Trump’s patience with Putin has been wearing thin in recent weeks as his attempts to secure a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine has foundered.When Putin first launched his invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Trump called it “savvy” and “genius”.But his attitude towards the Russian president has steadily grown more hostile since the spring, when Moscow launched its deadliest strike on Ukraine since last summer.In a much-mocked moment, Trump wrote on social media: “Vladimir, STOP!”At the start of July, he spoke to Putin on the phone and said he was “disappointed” in the Russian leader and that he did not believe Moscow would end the war.And last week he said: “We get a lot of bullshit thrown at us by Putin, if you want to know the truth.”Sir Alex Younger, the former head of MI6, said last week that the Russian president had “played Donald Trump like a violin”.He said: “He’s going to make Trump look like a Muppet if he continues, and that’s not acceptable.“The evidence is he is overplaying his hand and he doesn’t have a military solution. We’re three years in, he’s lost a million men and he’s got less territory than he did in 22.
