Ex-IDF Spokesperson Compares Keir Starmer To A 'Useful Idiot'

Prime Minister Keir Starmer Keir Starmer has been compared to a “useful idiot” by a former spokesperson for the IDF.It comes as the UK prepares to formally recognise Palestine as a state before next week’s United Nations General Assembly, on the understanding that Israel will not suddenly start taking “substantive steps to end” its conflict in Gaza.The government was following France’s lead when it announced this move in July, but it will become the 148th country around the world to do so.However, the UK will reportedly wait until after Trump’s state visit to the UK is over to formally recognise the territory, as the US is opposed to granting Palestine statehood.The move has also been condemned by Israel, and a former representative for the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) went so far as to say it shows the UK government is now supporting the Palestinian militants, Hamas.“Hamas quite correctly are saying well, why should we [surrender]?” Jonathan Conricus said.Alluding to Starmer, he said: “We will just wait it out and useful idiots will come to our support and they will hand us the victory. And that is what’s happening.“And what you’re seeing now in Gaza is an Israeli maneuver that is going in, there will be destruction, and there will be lots of people that will be killed.”Israel has just launched its ground invasion of Gaza City, despite a recent UN commission of inquiry concluding that Israel was committing genocide in Gaza.Conricus continued: “Hopefully most of them will be Hamas. There will be this tremendous international outcry against Israel.“But at the end of the day, Hamas will wait it out because they know that the time and the pressure is applied on Israel and not on them.
