Back in June, some online commenters called the multi-day, protester-packed event “tacky”, adding that millions “can’t buy class”. So perhaps it’s no wonder that Charli XCX’s recent wedding to The 1975′s George Daniels, which involved a low-key ’do at Hackney Town Hall in a £3,300 Vivienne Westwood dress, has proven a balm to netizens.
