'Gross': Republicans Ripped Over 'Incredibly Creepy' New Way To Honour Trump

Critics are giving a thumbs-down to a Republican plan to honour President Donald Trump by naming a programme for babies after him. The programme that would give each newborn a special savings account pre-loaded with $1,000 was initially called “money account for growth and advancement,” aka MAGA, Trump’s longtime slogan. But this week, Republicans changed it to the “Trump Account” as they tried to push their “big beautiful bill” through the House. Critics agreed that money for babies is a good idea. In fact, Democrats have proposed a very similar plan before. But they don’t love the name ― and spoke out on social media: Gross.— Heather Thomas (@HeatherThomasAF) May 22, 2025This is so incredibly creepy.— colleen (@waysandmeans71) May 22, 2025Heck .. go ahead and name it after a big baby.— Bill Johnson (@Bill43111) May 22, 2025Definitely not a cult. https://t.co/APl2YU0M63— James Surowiecki (@JamesSurowiecki) May 22, 2025These are pod people.— colleen (@waysandmeans71) May 22, 2025Republicans are taking a Democratic “Baby Bond” idea (to put away savings for newborns) and now calling it “The Trump Trust” Because the Malignant-Narcissist-in-Chief says so pic.twitter.com/igcKGO7klx— The Tennessee Holler (@TheTNHoller) May 22, 2025😂😂😂 these republicans are definitely in a cult https://t.co/uC70hsnibq— Ra Ra (@__RA_RA__) May 22, 2025They renamed it the Trump Trust because “Grift Account for Future Cultists” didn’t poll well.— Nikos Unity (@nikosunity) May 22, 2025What in the......fuck it.
