Hunter Biden's Response To Melania Trump's Apology Demand Rhymes With 'Duck Fat'
Hunter Biden doesn’t seem too concerned about being sued by Melania Trump for comments he made on a podcast linking her to sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. In fact, his response to the first lady’s demand for an apology can be summed up in just two words: “Fuck that.”In a July interview with journalist Andrew Callaghan, the son of former President Joe Biden repeated claims that the disgraced financier introduced the first lady to now-President Donald Trump.“Epstein introduced Melania to Trump,” Hunter Biden told Callaghan, citing reporting from author Michael Wolff — whom Donald Trump has designated a “Third Rate Reporter.”“The connections are, like, so wide and deep,” Biden said. The Trumps have long claimed that they were introduced to each other in 1998 by modeling agent Paolo Zampolli during a New York Fashion Week party. The first lady’s lawyer, Alejandro Brito, sent a letter to Biden earlier this month demanding he retract his “false, defamatory, disparaging, and inflammatory statements” or risk a lawsuit for $1 billion.Callaghan gave Biden a chance to apologise on Thursday, but he didn’t seem particularly inclined to do so.“We’re here, maybe, to give you the platform to apologise to the first lady for your statements that you made about her possible connection to Jeffrey Epstein,” he said to Biden.“Fuck that! That’s not going to happen,” Biden bluntly responded.Biden then explained that all he did was cite what he has “heard and seen reported and written.” Although he said his source for the allegation came primarily from Wolff, he pointed out that The New York Times reported in 2019 that Epstein claimed to be the matchmaker.Biden also doesn’t think the lawsuit threats are anything other than “a designed distraction.”“It’s not about who introduced whom to who,” he said. “I don’t know how that in any way rises to the level of defamation to begin with.”“But the fact of the matter is that this is about hundreds, if not over a thousand, minors, children, who were raped by Jeffrey Epstein,” Biden said. “And I don’t believe in guilt by association alone, but the connections that become — they’re so glaringly obvious that I think they’re trying to use other things to distract.”Biden called the Trumps “bullies” and seemed amused that “they think that a billion dollars is gonna scare me.”He then offered the Trumps an opportunity to set the record straight about how they met.“If they want to sit down for a deposition and clarify the the nature of the relationship between Jeffrey Epstein, if the president and the first lady want to do that and all of the known associates around them at the time of whatever time that they met, I’m more than happy to provide them the platform to be able to do it,” he said.HuffPost reached out to Brito for a comment on Biden’s response, but no one immediately responded. You can see the interview below.
