I will not pretend to be humble about my cooking when it comes to them.However, I have recently swapped in an ingredient that has given them another delicious layer of flavour, and it’s one that Australians swear by.The Aussie condiment that perfects my roast vegetablesSo, in Australia, chicken salt is all the rage. In fact, it’s actually a mainstay in Australian takeaways and is often enjoyed with fries.After ordering some to try for myself, I found that this surprisingly vegan concoction isn’t just good for chips and chicken. No, it’s a perfect substitute for actual salt.Speaking to ABC News Australia, the original creator of chicken salt explained that it was originally made in the 1970′s out of “laziness more than anything”, as he was looking for s a simpler way to season rotisserie chickens.Explaining his recipe, he said: “There are a hundred recipes out there today and they all reckon they’re good but mine has salt, chicken stock, MSG, paprika, garlic, onion, celery, some herbs and spices.Let me tell you... it’s unbelievable.
