I spent a day on a Sauchiehall Street pub crawl in search of a prized pint under £6

In the spiritual home of the legendary Venom cocktail, natural light slips in warily, seeking to avoid attention, like the groom’s ex-girlfriend on his wedding day. I’m in the Campus bar at the jaggy end of Sauchiehall Street whose taverns bear a boisterous nomenclature: Firewater, Berlinky’s, Nicensleazy. Campus though, is the one I often hear mentioned when my nieces and nephews discuss their preferred onward destinations after they’ve dutifully observed the sedate rituals of weddings, communions and landmark birthdays.
