'I'm P***ed Off': Barbra Streisand Reveals Why She Doesn’t Want To Return To Popular Franchise
Barbra Streisand in 2017Barbra Streisand says she’s still “pissed off” over the salary she earned for starring in the Meet the Parents film series. In a new interview with Variety, the Oscar winner claimed that she was paid less than her co-stars for her part in the comedies. She added that she won’t likely return for the franchise’s upcoming fourth instalment due to the alleged unfair pay. “They’d have to pay me a lot of money because I didn’t get paid what the other people got paid and so I’m pissed off,” Barbra replied after being asked if she would reprise her role as Roz Focker in the untitled film, which is set to release in 2026. “[It] was in the time when women were getting paid less than the men,” she added in the interview published on Monday. “The head of Universal was Ron Meyer at the time, and he actually sent me a bonus check. It was very sweet.”Reps for Universal did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment. Barbra famously starred as the free-spirited mom of Ben Stiller’s character Greg Focker with Dustin Hoffman as her onscreen husband in 2004’s Meet The Fockers, which was the sequel to 2000’s Meet The Parents. She also starred in 2010’s Little Fockers.Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand in 2004's Meet The FockersCast members Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro reportedly made $20 million for Little Fockers, Owen Wilson was paid $15 million, and Dustin Hoffman earned $7.5 million. However, Streisand made just $7 million, sources told Page Six back in 2011. This isn’t the first time Barbra has spoken about the alleged pay discrepancy in the series. She previously opened up about her Meet The Fockers pay compared to her castmates, without getting into specific numbers, in her 2023 memoir My Name Is Barbra, as reported by People magazine.  She wrote at the time: “This was the first time I felt the effect of Hollywood’s unequal pay scale for men and women. I didn’t ask what the other actors were making, but I was definitely hurt when I found out that Dustin was getting three times as much as me, plus a tiny percentage, which is significant on a movie that made $520 million.” MORE FILM NEWS:Jonathan Bailey Has Perfect Response After Fans Flip Out Over Him Kissing Scarlett Johansson28 Years Later 'Alpha' Chi Lewis-Parry Answers Everyone's 1 Big Question About The FilmRachel Zegler Reveals How She Really Feels About 'Alarming' Snow White Drama
