'It’s Time': Ex-Politico Editor Has 6 Blunt Questions About Trump’s Health

'It’s Time': Ex-Politico Editor Has 6 Blunt Questions About Trump’s Health
US President Donald Trump speaks to members of the media on the South Lawn of the White House before boarding Marine One in Washington, DC, US, on Friday, Aug. 1, 2025.Journalist Garrett Graff, a former editor of Politico Magazine, said “it’s time” for the press to start asking deeper questions about US President Donald Trump’s health. Graff said his column wasn’t intended to ignite any conspiracy theories so much as to “lay out visible obvious evidence” on several points, including some “curious questions” about the bruised hands the White House has blamed on aspirin use and handshaking. “There’s reason to believe there’s more to it than that,” he wrote, noting that the bruises appear on both hands, not just the one he uses for greeting people, and that it’s not clear why Trump is taking aspirin given what’s known publicly about his health. But the biggest issue may be the one that has caused a frenzy on social media in recent days: Trump’s decision to stay at the White House for the holiday weekend and remain largely absent from the public eye, with only brief and limited appearances since last Tuesday including golf outings on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. “Trump takes off for one of his golf resorts the first chance he can nearly every weekend of the year, and yet he’s just choosing to spend an extra-long holiday weekend hanging out at the White House? Why?” he wrote. “Is his medical team wanting to keep him closer to top secure medical facilities?” Donald Trump seen on Sept. 1. The president has kept a lower-than-usual profile in recent days, fueling rumors and speculation about his health. He noted other recent pattern changes ― including August 22, when Trump wore a hat and no tie while sitting at his desk in the Oval Office, something he almost never does. Everyone who joined him also wore no tie, suggesting some coordination. “At the very least, it would cause me to ask around about what else was going with Donald Trump on August 22nd?” he wrote. Graff said reporters need to dig deeper. “Put all of this together, and it’s clear that there’s enough smoke coming from the White House to warrant at least a major story in a major outlet investigating whether there’s fire,” he wrote. He added that the same press now facing questions over how it handled questions over former President Joe Biden’s health should be more willing to “dig deeper” now.   Read the full report here. Trump himself addressed speculation about his health in a social media post over the weekend.“NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE,” Trump wrote. The post came after days of limited appearances, unusual by his standards, and followed comments by Trump allies vouching for his health. “The president is in incredibly good health,” Vice President JD Vance told USA Today last week. “He’s got incredible energy.”Vance said he’s “very confident” Trump will serve his full term, but said he’s ready to step up if “God forbid” something should happen to the president. The White House last week also released a statement to The Daily Beast by Representative Ronny Jackson (Republican, Texas), who was Trump’s physician during his first term in office, insisting that Trump is the “healthiest president this nation has ever seen” and is “is mentally and physically sharper than ever before.”Jackson, in 2018, once claimed that if Trump had eaten healthier, he could live to the age of 200.  And Eric Trump, one of the president’s sons, called the media “sick and twisted” due to the questions over his father’s health. Trump’s partial absence may come to an end on Tuesday: The White House said the president will make an announcement from the Oval Office at 2pm. Related...Putin And Xi Embrace Trump's 'True Friend' Modi In Humiliating Twist For USTrump Motorcade Gets A Very Blunt Message From A Lone ProtesterMaybe Rex Tillerson Was Right.
