It’s not just that the items are portable; it’s also about cold, hard cash. The “idea that you can have three parts of a meal for a considerably fair price” – ie cheaper than they would be if bought separately – is a strong consideration, and a metric by which many of the posts are judged. There are those, the Redditor said, who “make their choices based only on individual item price, as some drinks alone are over £2”.Then, there’s the sheer number of (sometimes cursed) meal deal combos out there. “What I’ve realised is there’s a greater variety than I’d ever imagined, despite seeing the options myself hundreds of times,” Ben said – “you can even have bakery items, pot noodles or ice cream as a snack”. And yes, the mod can’t help but harbour some feelings about the forum’s submissions.“I do think it’s possible to tell a lot about someone based on their choices,” they shared. Ben thinks protein-packed lunch pickers are more likely to be gym-goers, while “If a person were to pick a fruit-based side, I’d guess they were a health-conscious person, as the amount of unhealthy snacks is enormous.“I am surprised by the [number] of people who take boiled eggs as their side,” they added, “as personally I couldn’t stomach cold egg, as a sandwich or side”. So... what’s Ben’s order? The meal deal expert shared: “I love crisps in sandwiches, so my choices always reflect that.“My go-to is usually a chicken bacon stuffing (or lettuce) sandwich, sweet chilli Sensations crisps, and Dr Pepper.
