Jamie Lee Curtis Speaks Out About Why She's Always Regretted Having Cosmetic Surgery

Jamie Lee Curtis at the SAG Awards earlier this yearJamie Lee Curtis has opened up about why going under the knife when she was in her mid-20s is something she still regrets decades later.The Oscar winner recently sat down with 60 Minutes for a wide-ranging interview, where she reflected on shooting the 1985 film Perfect with John Travolta, in which she played a fitness instructor.“I took it very seriously as an actor and of course, I look really good in a leotard,” she said.“And believe me, I’ve seen enough pictures of me in that leotard where even I go, like, ‘Really? Come on’.”However, the Everything Everywhere All At Once star admitted that a member of the crew made personal comments about her appearance during this shoot which made her self-conscious.Jamie Lee Curtis in 1985's PerfectShe recalled: “He was like, ‘Yeah, I’m not shooting her today. Her eyes are baggy’. And I was 25? So, for him to say that was very embarrassing.“As soon as the movie finished, I ended up having some plastic surgery.”When asked how this procedure went, Jamie responded: “Not well. That’s just not what you wanna do when you’re 25 or 26. And I regretted it immediately and have kind of sort of regretted it since.“[I regret it] way [more] now because I’ve become a really public advocate to say to women, ‘You’re gorgeous and you’re perfect the way you are’.
