Jeffrey Goldberg Reveals How Trump Weirded Him Out During Interview: ‘Truly Odd’
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, President Donald Trump and Secretary of Defence Pete HegsethJeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic whose Signal war group chat scoop ultimately led to Michael Waltz’s ousting as national security adviser this week, has named a particular habit of US President Donald Trump that he found “truly odd” during their recent interview.Goldberg recalled Trump “repeatedly” referring derogatorily to his successor and predecessor, former President Joe Biden.“The first thing he [Trump] said was, ‘I bet Joe Biden would never do this,’” Goldberg told MSNBC’s Morning Joe show.“And then about six or eight times during the interview, he refers to Joe Biden,” Goldberg remembered. “Joe Biden doesn’t do this. Joe Biden is dumb. Joe Biden is sleepy.”“Whatever, it’s like, it’s truly odd,” said Goldberg. “Like, he’s [Biden] gone. It’s like, ‘You’re the president.’ It’s just this crutch and you see it in all his speeches. But that was noticeable.”Host Joe Scarborough pointed out, though, how Trump, despite his years-long antagonising of the press, has granted much more access to the media than Biden. Goldberg agreed, saying it was an “important point” and that Biden “didn’t see us in that context and that’s too bad.”Watch here:Related...Trump Ripped Over 'Shameful' Plan For A Massive Military Birthday ParadeSocial Media Erupts Over Trump's Dismissal Of Mike WaltzMichael Waltz Is Leaving The Trump Administration Following War Plan Group Text Fiasco
