Jo Whiley Lifts The Lid On 'Horrible' Eminem And Dr Dre Interview

Jo Whiley at the 2019 Brit AwardsFormer Radio 1 host Jo Whiley is opening up about one of her more “unpleasant” interview experiences.Jo now co-hosts the podcast Dig It with Zoe Ball, the latest episode of which saw the pair being asked by one listener about the celebrity interview that left them the most “starstruck”.However, looking back over her past A-list encounters also put the presenter in mind of one of her less enjoyable interviews.“I remember interviewing Eminem and Dr. Dre once, and that was horrible,” she admitted. “I interviewed Eminem when he was very young, and he was very shy and polite. He kept calling me ‘ma’am’ all the time, and he was really, really sweet and humble.“Then, a couple of years later, he came back on the show but with Dr. Dre, and the fame had happened, and he was just this other creature altogether.”Dr Dre and Eminem on stage at Coachella in 2012Jo recalled: “They made me feel so tiny and so stupid, and it was a really unpleasant experience. I did not enjoy that.”HuffPost UK has contacted Eminem’s team for comment.Jo isn’t the only British broadcaster to have opened up about their less positive past interviews, though.Earlier this year, Lorraine Kelly named two different musical divas when asked during a panel discussion about her worst interview moments – for two very different reasons.Since then, Denise Welch was also put on the spot about the “worst guest” she’s interviewed throughout her decades on the Loose Women panel, during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live.“Probably Mia Farrow, who I adore, and I literally was gobsmacked to have her on,” Denise responded. “But she just kind of didn’t get it. You know when someone is just monosyllabic?
