Smokes raises from a building of the Soroka hospital complex after it was hit by a missile fired from Iran in Be'er Sheva, Israel.Keir Starmer has urged Donald Trump not to join in Israel’s bombing of Iran.A spokesman for the prime minister warned against anything that “ramps up” the conflict.The US president has reportedly approved plans for American planes to target Iran’s nuclear sites, but has yet to sign off on the mission.Speaking at the White House on Wednesday, Trump said: “Nobody knows what I’m going to do.”At a briefing for journalists in Downing Street this morning, the PM’s spokesman was asked if Starmer would prefer Trump to go down the route of diplomacy rather than military action.He said: “The prime minister has been clear that his priority is de-escalation.”The spokesman added: “Clearly de-escalation is the priority, and we would not want to see anything that ramps up the situation.“That is our priority. We have been clear on that for a number of days now.
