Kelly Brook's Past I'm A Celebrity Comments Come Back To Haunt Her Ahead Of New Series
Kelly Brook is getting ready to enter the I'm A Celebrity jungleWhen Kelly Brook was announced for the new season of I’m A Celebrity, she may have been a bit of a surprise inclusion to some, given what she’s said about the show in the past.Back in 2018, the former Celebrity Race Across The World star told her Heart listeners that there were a “million” things she’d rather do than sign up for the jungle.“I don’t want to eat eyeballs or sheep testicles and all the things they have to eat on there,” she insisted.“Even if I had a huge tax bill and I had to pay it really urgently, I still wouldn’t do it,” Kelly added. “It’s kind of like the beginning of the end in my opinion.”It’s now been confirmed that the presenter, actor and model is one of 10 famous faces who’ll be heading into I’m A Celebrity when it launches over the weekend, and during an interview on Elizabeth Day’s podcast How To Fail, she was asked about the u-turn that she’s now made.Reflecting on her past comments about the show, Kelly said: “What changed? Really good question.“A friend of mine got asked to have a meeting with the producers ofI’m A Celebrity, and I said, “you have to do it, it will be the most amazing thing, I absolutely love watching that show, oh my god, what an incredible life experience, you are just going to be so great on it’.“I was saying all of this and then thinking to myself afterwards, ‘well, why can’t I give myself that advice? How do I find it so easy to give someone else life advice like that? But I never follow my own’.”She continued: “I realised it was just basically out of fear, and I thought to myself, ‘do you know what? It’s about time that I live my don’t give a damn era’. So, I started thinking about it and I thought, ‘maybe I should meet the producers of this show and maybe I should find out what it’s all about’.“I do love the show anyway. And luckily enough, there was a space and they gave it to me.”Meet the cast of I'm A Celebrity 2025Asked what she was doing to prepare for I’m A Celebrity, Kelly disclosed that she was undergoing “a lot of body lasering, a lot of hair removal, because I don’t think there’ll be much of that going on” and had already cut down on coffee to prepare for life in the jungle.“I love cooking for myself, I love to eat, I love a glass of wine, so I’m just winding down all of those things that are my comfort here that I’m not going to have there,” she explained.“So that’s really mostly what I’ve been doing and just getting my head around it and watching trials back on the television, just the reruns to see what I’ll be doing.”Kelly then admitted: “I’m terrified of everything. I think as I’ve got older, I’ve got more phobias. I’m even scared to get the tube at Leicester Square and go up that escalator because it’s too steep for me. I wait for someone to be behind me and in front of me, like I’m sandwiched.“So, I think I’m scared of heights, I’m scared of snakes, I’m scared of spiders. All of those things. I don’t mind them in small doses, but the fact that they’re going to be running all over me and on me is terrifying.“But I’m happy to just face my phobias. I think it would be quite empowering.”Kelly is one of 10 stars on the new I’m A Celebrity line-up, and you can check out the rest of the cast here.I’m A Celebrity launches on Sunday 16 November at 9pm on ITV1.
