La Voix Opens Up About Injury That Led Her To Miss Strictly Come Dancing Live Show
Strictly Come Dancing star La VoixLa Voix has shed more light on the recent injury that led to her pulling out of this week’s Strictly Come Dancing live show.On Tuesday, the Drag Race UK finalist announced that she would not be able to take part in Saturday night’s broadcast, which will take place at Blackpool Tower, having previously made no secret of the fact that making it to Blackpool was her main aim in the competition. After the news broke, she told her Instagram followers that she’d actually hurt herself while rehearsing for last week’s live show, but was able to go ahead with her planned Couple’s Choice routine. However, since the weekend, she said it “became clear that the injury wasn’t improving”, and La Voix has now been advised to sit this week’s show out.“I wanted to take a moment to speak to you all personally and from the heart,” she wrote.“As many of you know, l injured my foot last week. With the help of an incredible team – and a whole lot of sparkles and determination – I was able to keep going and perform. As the old saying goes, the show must go on, and believe me, I pushed myself to make sure it did.“However, after my appearance on Saturday night, it became clear that the injury wasn’t improving. I’ve now been advised by medical professionals to rest properly, which means I won’t be able to perform in Blackpool this week. It breaks my heart, because performing for all of you means the world to me, but l have to listen to my body so I can come back stronger (and with both heels working!).”She added: “Thank you for your love, your messages, and your endless support. I promise I’ll be cheering everyone on from the sidelines, and I’ll be back on that stage as soon as l’m able-louder, brighter, and sassier than ever.”A Strictly spokesperson previously said: “Due to injury, La Voix has been advised by doctors to rest and, as a result, will not dance in this weekend’s Black pool specials.“In line with the rules of Strictly Come Dancing, La Voix and Aljaž [Škorjanec, La Voix’s professional dance partner] will receive a bye through to next week when it is hoped they will be able to dance again.”View this post on InstagramSo far this season, a number of cast members have had to miss performances due to injury, with two stars pulling out from the series before the first live show had even taken place.Neighbours cast member Stefan Dennis also had to miss a week on medical grounds, and later withdrew from the show altogether due to an unrelated injury.MORE STRICTLY:Strictly Fans Get Behind La Voix As Her Mission To Become The Show's New Host EscalatesAlan Carr Breaks Silence On Strictly Come Dancing Presenting RumoursBalvinder Sopal Shares Emotional Post After Surviving Fourth Strictly Dance-Off
