LBC Presenter Angers Reform's Zia Yusuf By Asking If Nigel Farage 'Is a Russian Asset'

Shelagh Fogarty and Zia Yusuf on LBC.A presenter on LBC angered Reform UK’s Zia Yusuf by asking him if Nigel Farage “is a Russian asset”.Shelagh Fogarty’s question came after the party’s former leader in Wales was convicted of taking bribes from the Kremlin.Nathan Gill, who was also a senior member of Ukip and the Brexit Party alongside Farage, was jailed for 10-and-a-half years last week.During her Budget speech on Wednesday, Rachel Reeves poked fun at Farage over the story, saying: “We are ramping up sanctions on Russia and we are freezing known Russian assets.“But let me be clear, I don’t actually mean the Right Honourable Member for Clacton.”On LBC on Wednesday, presenter Shelagh Fogarty asked Yusuf, who is Reform’s head of policy: “Is he a Russian asset? As Yusuf avoided the question, Fogarty added: “Is Nigel Farage a Russian asset? Is he a Russian asset?”The clearly-annoyed Reform chief said: “You know the answer to that question and I take exception to you asking me that question.“Are you seriously asking me the question if Nigel Farage is a Russian asset? That’s your serious question as the host of an LBC show?“Let me categorically say that not only is that not true, it is deeply offensive to the millions of British people who support Reform and support Nigel Farage.”But Fogarty hit back: “You cannot avoid questions about Nigel Farage by suggesting that I’m asking the question about people who are interested in voting for him.”Watch the pair’s clash below.‘Is Nigel Farage a Russian asset?’‘Are you seriously asking me that?’@ShelaghFogarty refuses to back down while questioning Reform’s Zia Yusuf. pic.twitter.com/qwwh5TOdjq— LBC (@LBC) November 26, 2025Related...'UK Society Must Come Together To Make Sure A Case Like Nathan Gill's Never Happens Again'Labour Calls For Probe Into Pro-Russia Links Within Reform After 'Traitor' Nathan Gill JailedReform UK Chief Left Squirming Over Former Party Leader Who Made Pro-Russia Statements For Cash
