Letters: Let's be bold with Sauchiehall Street: turn it into a horizontal mall

After an admittedly enjoyable lunch, I recently wandered into the pop-up facility in Sauchiehall Street, which seeks public views on the refurbishment outside. The first question my charming interviewer asked was on memories of the street and I talked about school uniform purchases in Pettigrew and Stepens, having to eat sandwiches, then scones before being allowed to attack the top plate of cakes and the fluoroscopic foot-imaging machines in the shoe department.
