Megan Thee Stallion Hits Out At 'Harassment' As High-Profile Musicians Call For Shooter's Release
Megan Thee StallionMegan Thee Stallion has spoken out amid the growing calls from various public figures for Tory Lanez to be released from prison. In 2020, the chart-topping rapper was shot in the foot by Lanez, for which he was eventually sentenced to 10 years in jail three years later. While the Canadian musician is now two years into his sentence, the case has been back in the headlines in recent history, after his team revealed earlier this month that Lanez had been stabbed 14 times in prison.Since then, celebrities including Drake, Ye, Chris Brown and Amber Rose have publicly called for Lanez’s release, while some have also shared a petition urging the Governor of California, Gavin Newsom, to pardon the Luv performer.Lanez’s legal team also organised a press conference last week, in which they alleged that there was “new evidence” in the case that would exonerate him.Tory LanezMegan responded to this in a TikTok post shared late on Monday night, which began with her asking: “At what point are y’all gonna stop making me have to relive being shot by Tory?”She continued: “At what point are Tory and y’all FANS gonna stop lying? Like how much is the check to keep harassing me? Why is this happening EVERY DAY??”The Grammy winner ended by urging Lanez to “leave me alone”, branding him a “fucking demon”.Read Megan’s full statement below: Megan’s legal team also said in a statement: “Tory Lanez was tried and convicted by a jury of his peers and his case was properly adjudicated through the court system. This is not a political matter – this is a case of a violent assault that was resolved in the court of law.”Last year, it was reported that Megan was seeking a restraining order against Lanez, who she accused of continuing to harass her from prison through third parties.“Even now, while behind bars, [Lanez] shows no signs of stopping,” her legal  petition says. “Despite being sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting [Megan], [he] continues to to subject her to repeated trauma and re-victimistion.”MORE ENTERTAINMENT NEWS:Snoop Dogg Breaks Silence On Trump Inaugural Ball BacklashGary Lineker Confirms He's Leaving The BBC Early After Backlash Over Mistaken Anti-Semitic PostI Kissed A Boy's First Trans Contestant Lars Fellows Says Casting 'Backlash' Is 'Rooted In Fear And Misinformation'
