Netherlands: Investigation Launched into Stadskanaal Child Abuse Case & Youth Services

Following severe child abuse allegations in Stadskanaal, Netherlands, the Health and Youth Inspectorate (IGJ) has launched an investigation into local youth care providers and Veilig Thuis Groningen to assess the quality and safety of provided care. The probe was initiated after two women were arrested for allegedly abusing children, with authorities having received signals about the situation as early as 2025.
