Netherlands to Discontinue Monthly Air Raid Siren Tests in 2028 Due to Lack of Funding

The Dutch government will discontinue the monthly air raid siren tests starting in January 2028 due to insufficient funds to replace the aging system. Justice and Security Minister David van Weel stated that the NL-Alert system, which sends alerts to mobile phones, is a sufficient and more effective alternative.
