Putin Making A Mockery Of Trump's Peace Plan As Ukraine Attack Kills 4 People

They will also remain in close contact with their European partners as the process advances.“Final decisions under this framework will be made by the Presidents of Ukraine and the United States.”It remains to be seen how Trump’s plan might be altered.German chancellor Friedrich Merz has already rejected the president’s idea of readmitting Russia to the G7 in the event of a peace deal, suggesting the US was the only member of the economic group willing to bring Moscow back. However, the wider European plan has already agreed to invite Putin back into the organisation.Europe’s counter-offer also suggests capping the size of the Ukrainian military at 800,000 in peacetime, and keeping Nato membership as a possibility for Ukraine.Europe proposed the negotiations on territorial swaps should “start from the Line of Contact” too, reducing the amount of land Putin could claim. However, the west also suggested Ukraine commits not to recover its occupied sovereign territory through military means. Both European and American proposals agree that security guarantees are needed to act as a deterrent to Putin, and that the US will receive compensation for providing security guarantees.Related...Putin's Chilling Response To Trump Peace Plan Shows Why It Is Bad News For UkraineBBC Expert Warns Trump's New Peace Plan With Russia Would Allow Putin To Declare 'Victory'Reform's Zia Yusuf Refuses To Call Farage's Divisive Past Comments On Putin And Ukraine A 'Mistake'
