Sarah Michelle Gellar Has 1 'Dream' For The Buffy Reboot That Fans Are Going To Love
Sarah Michelle Gellar at the Critics' Choice Awards earlier this yearSarah Michelle Gellar is looking ahead to the new Buffy The Vampire Slayer reboot.Earlier this year, Sarah Michelle confirmed she’d be producing a new revival of the classic supernatural teen drama. While the show will centre around a new slayer, portrayed by Ryan Kiera Armstrong, it will also feature several ties to the original series, with the Scooby Doo! star once again appearing in character as Buffy.Speaking to Vanity Fair, Sarah Michelle said: “It will be lighter than the last few seasons of the original. We will try to find a balance between new and old characters.“My dream is to bring back everyone who has died, but space will have to be made for new stories as well.”She added: “One of the surprising aspects of Buffy is that it’s always been a crossover series. “We’re trying to figure out how to modernise the themes of the series, especially what it means to feel like an outsider in a world dominated by social media. What we want to explore are the space-time boundaries that affect society today.”Sarah Michelle Gellar on the set of Buffy The Vampire Slayer in 1999Although Sarah Michelle is set to revisit the role of Buffy, she recently ruled out returning for the I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel, claiming that while she was offered the chance to return, she turned it down, as she didn’t want to retcon her character’s death in the first movie. However, her husband Freddie Prinze Jr (who she met while making the movie) is returning alongside former co-star Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Sarah Michelle wound up letting the cat out of the bag that filming had begun when she posted about a set visit towards the end of last year.View this post on InstagramA post shared by Sarah Michelle (@sarahmgellar)“I found out that they hadn’t posted any pictures from the set yet [and hadn’t even] announced they had started filming,” she admitted on Love With Kelly And Mark. “That was an ‘Oops!
