Sophie Turner Says She Got Her ‘Sex Education’ From The Unlikeliest Of Places
Sophie TurnerSophie Turner’s sex education was a little different than the average person’s. The Do Revenge actor opened up about her unique schooling on the subject of the birds and the bees during a recent episode of the podcast Dish, which was released on Wednesday. When co-host Nick Grimshaw asked Sophie about her time on the drama Game Of Thrones, and the Emmy nominee shared just how much she learned from the show. “I did love making it. It was it, it was like, it was the best acting class I’ve ever had,” she said. ”’Cause I never had like proper, formal training, so I got to learn from the amazing actors around me, which was like, I felt like I’d won – you know – a competition or something.” “But it was great,” Sophie said, adding that the cast “were a family” that “kind of merged into one person by the end of it”. Despite learning so much on set, Sophie Turner said that she's actually never watched Game Of Thrones“But it was amazing. It informed my entire life in terms of like business decisions, just etiquette on set, how to act, um, everything! Everything I learned from Game Of Thrones,” she said, jokingly adding, “And a bit from my parents.” She added that she got to do “really crazy shit” on the series, which lasted for eight seasons. “I definitely got my sex education from that show,” she quipped. “More than enough.” Despite learning so much on set, Sophie said that she’s actually never watched the series. “It’s horrible watching yourself,” she told the hosts, who asked if she’d ever had to sit down and see herself on screen. “I mean, I’ve been forced to endure like premieres and whatnot,” Sophie said. “But I mean, it’s just awful. I leave going into like a two-month bout of depression after I watch myself, so I just don’t do it.” Sophie has opened up about her time on the hit series before and spoken about how she dealt with some of the more traumatic scenes and storylines her character faced. “Growing up on a show like Game Of Thrones, the subject matter was so heavy that I just developed a coping mechanism of just having the most fun in between takes, so I wouldn’t get traumatised,” she told fellow actor Jessica Chastain in an article for The Cut, published in 2022.  “I’m sure I’ll exhibit some symptoms of trauma down the road,” she added, though luckily she said she filmed when she was young, so she couldn’t “comprehend a lot of the scene matter.” MORE GAME OF THRONES:Hannah Waddingham Just Revealed 1 Startling Detail About Her Most Iconic Game Of Thrones SceneKit Harington Makes Candid Admission About Why He 'Backed Out' Of Game Of Thrones Spin-OffGame Of Thrones' Creator Has A Few Things To Get Off His Chest About House Of The Dragon
