Stranger Things Season 5 Features Show's 'Most Violent Death' To Date

The stars of Stranger Things season fiveSince its very first season, Stranger Things has made it clear to viewers that no character is truly safe.Back in those early days, the whole world was left reeling when fan-favourite Barb was killed off with no warning, and the Netflix series has since seen just as unflinching when it comes to characters like Bob Newby and, more recently, Eddie Munson. And it sounds like fans of the sci-fi drama need to prepare themselves for more bloodshed in the new batch of episodes.Speaking to The Times in the lead-up to season five, creators The Duffer Brothers let slip that Stranger Things’ final outing will feature yet another dramatic death – and it’s not going to be pretty.“I would say season five is not as violent as season four, but it has the most violent death of any season,” Matt Duffer told the outlet. His brother and co-creator Ross Duffer claimed: “The goal was always to scale up each series with the age of the characters and our audience – but then we keep getting new audiences. Hopefully parents don’t get too mad at us.”Millie Bobby Brown returns as Eleven in the new season of Stranger ThingsAfter keeping fans waiting for more than three years – the show’s final season is about to begin streaming later this week.Well… sort of.Netflix previously revealed that the new run of episodes is being split into three, the first instalment of which will arrive on the platform in the early hours of Thursday morning. After that, part two will begin streaming on Christmas Day, with the feature-length finale following on New Year’s Eve.Elsewhere in their Times interview, the brothers opened up about some of the graphic scenes they’ve had to scale back on at Netflix’s request.“We try to restrain ourselves,” Ross claimed. “There was one shot in season three that we did have to cut. It was when Bruce was melting. His nose melts into his face and Netflix said, ‘Absolutely not!’.”Matt added: “It’s too bad because it was like a $40,000 shot! The only other shot Netflix asked to be cut was when Benny is killed in season one [and] you saw the bullet go through his head.”MORE STRANGER THINGS:Stranger Things Bosses Tease 'Plan B' Song For Iconic Running Up That Hill SceneStranger Things Bosses Address Rumours Millie Bobby Brown Filed A Complaint About David HarbourFinn Wolfhard Weighs In On If There's A Future For Stranger Things Post-Season 5
