Strictly Come Dancing: Thomas Skinner Eliminated After First Dance-Off

Tess Daly speaks to Thomas Skinner and Amy DowdenAfter weeks of controversy, Thomas Skinner became the first Strictly Come Dancing contestant of this year’s series to be voted off the show over the weekend.During Sunday night’s results show, the ex-Apprentice candidate learned that he’d landed himself in the first dance-off of the season against former England rugby captain Chris Robshaw after failing to secure enough votes from the public to save him.Thomas and his dance partner Amy Dowden then performed their Salsa again, with Chris and Nadiya Bychkova also reprising their Viennese Waltz.Once both couples had performed again, the judges unanimously opted to save Chris and Nadiya, meaning Thomas was the first celebrity participant to be eliminated.Thomas Skinner and Amy Dowden landed in the bottom two with Chris Robshaw and Nadiya Bychkova“I’ve loved it. I’ve never danced before and my stay was short, but Amy’s amazing. It’s been great fun and I’ve enjoyed it,” Thomas said.He added: “I can’t really dance that well but I’ve had fun!
