Strictly's Craig Revel Horwood Already Has 2 Names In Mind To Replace Tess Daly And Claudia Winkleman

Craig Revel Horwood on the Loose Women panel on ThursdayStrictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has shared his “shock” at the news that Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are leaving the show.On Thursday afternoon, Craig paid a visit to ITV’s Loose Women, just hours after Tess and Claudia shared a joint video on Instagram announcing their plans to step down from Strictly at the end of the current series.The long-serving judge told the Loose Women panel that he found out about the pair’s upcoming departure “at 10am this morning, like everyone else”.“My watch went ‘ping!’, and there it was,” he explained. “And I went, ‘what’s this?’. I was shocked, surprised!”He continued: “I was saddened, I really love them.”Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly in the Strictly Come Dancing studio last weekCraig and Tess are now the only members of the Strictly team to have been in their roles on the show since it began (Anton Du Beke also appeared on the first season as a professional, before joining the panel as a judge two decades later).“Obviously, I have been working on the show with the gorgeous Tess since May 2004, and it’s the end of an era,” he lamented.“But I know that people need to move on, as well. And I get that. So, I wish them all the luck, and everything. Every good wish in the world. I’m just going to love seeing this out now, until Christmas. But it is going to be [bittersweet].”Craig went on to insist that he “celebrates people moving on”, before panellist Oti Mabuse – herself a former Strictly pro and two-time champion – asked if he’d consider taking on the presenting role himself.“Probably not, I think that’s where you might come in darling,” he quipped. “I think you and Alan Carr together would be perfect. Because I’m loving him on [Celebrity Traitors], I’ve got to say.”Craig Revel Horwood wants to see Alan Carr hosting Strictly in the futureTess and Claudia said in a joint statement on Thursday: “We were always going to leave together and now feels like the right time. We will have the greatest rest of this amazing series and we just want to say an enormous thank you to the BBC and to every single person who works on the show. They’re the most brilliant team and we’ll miss them every day.“We will cry when we say the last ‘keep dancing’ but we will continue to say it to each other.
