Swinney to be quizzed in Parliament over soaring costs of Scots prisons to taxpayer

The First Minister has defended the Scottish Government's track record after it emerged the cost of Scotland's jails has soared to over £77,000 per prisoner - as the price of building new jails to end overcrowding has skyrocketed while projects to try to end the crisis have been delayed by at least five years.
