Taskmaster Announces Full Star-Studded Line-Up For The Next New Year Specials
Greg Davies and Alex Horne in TaskmasterThis article contains spoilers for the latest episode of Taskmaster.Fans already missing Taskmaster after Thursday night’s grand finale can breathe a sigh of relief, as the show’s next specials are just a few weeks away.After comedian Maisie Adam was crowned the latest Taskmaster champion, Channel 4 announced the five stars who will be taking part in 2025’s New Year Treat.Set to air across two episodes over the festive season, the New Year Treat will feature the rapper-turned-TV-chef Big Zuu alongside Strictly Come Dancing winner Rose Ayling-Ellis.Completing the line-up will be former Lioness Jill Scott, Eurovision favourite Sam Ryder and Countdown staple Susie Dent, who’ll each be put through their paces in a variety of ridiculous challenges by Greg Davies and his right-hand man Alex Horne to try and win the coveted Golden Eyebrows trophy.The stars of Taskmaster's latest New Year Treat specialsBut that’s not all.Channel 4 has also announced that recent victor Maisie has earned a spot in Taskmaster’s fourth Champion Of Champions tournament.The stand-up comedian will be going head-to-head with four more of Taskmaster’s most recent winners, fellow comics Andy Zaltzman, John Robins, Mathew Baynton, and Sam Campbell.Release dates for Taskmaster’s New Year Treat and Champion Of Champions IV are yet to be revealed, but Channel 4 has said they will be coming “in due course”.It’s now been more than a decade since Taskmaster first launched on Dave in the summer of 2015, later making the jump to Channel 4 four years later, and quickly going on to become one of the broadcaster’s most popular shows.Taskmaster won its first Bafta in 2020, scooping the Best Comedy Entertainment Programme title over The Graham Norton Show, The Last Leg and The Ranganation, and later received a second nomination in the same category once again earlier this year.Since its launch, the show has gained a following overseas, and is now available to watch in 120 countries.
