Top Expert Explains Why Donald Trump Is Not About To Get This Year's Nobel Peace Prize

President Donald Trump in the Oval Office at the White House.Donald Trump will not be given the Nobel Peace Prize when the winner is announced later today, according to a leading expert.The US president has made no secret of his desire to get the award since returning to the White House in January.His claim appeared to be bolstered in the last 24 hours after Israel and Hamas signed up to his plan to end the conflict which has raged in the Middle East for the past two years.But Asle Sveen, a historian and peace prize expert, insisted Trump will not be the recipient when this year’s winner is announced on Friday.He told AFP that the Gaza ceasefire “has absolutely no significance” on the 2025 award because it has happened too late.He told the AFP news agency: “The Nobel committee has already made its decision. Trump will not win the prize this year. I’m 100 per cent certain.”Asked on Thursday by AFP what he thought his chances were of winning the prize, Trump replied: “I don’t know what they’re going to do, really. But I know this, that nobody in history has solved eight wars in a period of nine months.“And I’ve stopped eight wars.
