(Photo by Davidoff Studios/Getty Images)Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said he is “reaching out” to Jeffrey Epstein accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell to find out what else she knows about the late convicted sex offender.In 2022, the British socialite was sentenced to 20 years in prison for helping Epstein recruit underage girls for sexual abuse.As the Trump administration attempts to draw a line under the Epstein scandal that continues to engulf the president, Blanche wrote on X that “for the first time, the Department of Justice is reaching out to Ghislaine Maxwell to ask: what do you know?”“President Trump has told us to release all credible evidence,” he added in a statement. “If [Ghislaine] Maxwell has information about anyone who has committed crimes against victims, the FBI and the DOJ will hear what she has to say.”Blanche, who is Trump’s former personal attorney, said he anticipated the jailhouse meeting to take place with Maxwell “in the coming days.”In response to the statement, Maxwell’s attorney, David Oscar Markus, confirmed discussions were taking place.“We are grateful to President Trump for his commitment to uncovering the truth in this case,” he added.Trump is facing a backlash from his MAGA base over the DOJ’s refusal to release additional records in the Epstein investigation.A two-page memo stated there was no evidence of a “client list” of powerful figures Epstein could potentially blackmail.Last week, the president’s historic links to Epstein were underlined by The Wall Street Journal publishing details of a lewd birthday letter sent by Trump to Epstein. Trump has called the letter fake and sued reporters at The Journal and the paper’s owner.Epstein was accused by authorities of sexually exploiting and trafficking girls as young as 14 over more than a decade, and couldn’t have done so without the help of Maxwell, prosecutors said.He died by suicide in his New York jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial.At her sentencing three years ago, Maxwell, the daughter of late British media magnate Robert Maxwell, cast Epstein as the villain when she addressed the court.“It is the greatest regret of my life that I ever met Jeffrey Epstein,” Maxwell said. “Jeffrey Epstein should have been here before all of you.”Related...Donald Trump Is Pulling The US Out Of An International Body Set Up To Promote PeaceRon DeSantis Urges Trump To Release Epstein Files: ‘No One’s Been Brought To Justice’Social Media Wonders Why Trump Suddenly Cares About Washington Commanders Team Name
