Venezuela to Release 300 Political Prisoners by Friday

Venezuelan National Assembly President Jorge Rodríguez announced the release of 300 political prisoners by Friday, May 22. The move goes beyond the amnesty law enacted in February following U.S. pressure after Nicolas Maduro's capture, and includes some police officers arrested after the failed 2002 coup.
