Jenna OrtegaJenna Ortega is still baffled about those old rumours that wrongly claimed she was dating Johnny Depp.Two years ago, people began speculating that the Wednesday actor and her fellow Tim Burton collaborator were an item after the gossip site DeuxMoi published a claim that the pair had been sighted together.At the time, Jenna was quick to dismiss the rumours as “so ridiculous I can’t even laugh”, and she’s clearly still perplexed about how they got started in the first place.Speaking to The Weeknd for a video interview with Complex, Jenna was asked for the worst rumour she’s ever heard about herself, responding with “the Johnny Depp thing”.Johnny Depp“[The rumours said] we were in a relationship, allegedly,” she explained. “I’d never met him. “It went on for such a [long time] – so much so that people were asking me on set, ‘oh how’s it going with you and…?’. Please stop spreading lies and leave us alone.”A spokesperson for the Pirates Of The Caribbean actor also insisted: “Mr. Depp has no personal or professional relationship with Ms. Ortega whatsoever. He has never met her or spoken to her.“He is not involved in any project with her, nor does he intend to be. He is appalled by these baseless and malicious rumours that are intended to harm his reputation and career.”Jenna and The Weeknd share the screen with Barry Keoghan in Hurry Up Tomorrow, a musical psychological thriller that serves as a companion piece to the Grammy winner’s album of the same name.The film will hit select cinemas worldwide on Friday 16 May.
