BBVA and former CEO Francisco González to stand trial over Villarejo espionage case

Spain's National Court has opened a trial against BBVA and its former president Francisco González, along with 14 others, for alleged illegal commissions paid to former police commissioner José Manuel Villarejo between 2004 and 2016. A civil liability bond of over €1.17 million has been set.
