Lyft salaries revealed: How much tech workers at the ride-hailing company get paid

Now, it's set up for its next stage of growth.The service, which relies on about 1 million gig-worker drivers, is breaking into new areas, including launching this year a service for older riders called Lyft Silver. Like rival Uber, Lyft is also experimenting with self-driving cars, a development that CEO David Risher said could be "transformational.""A new Lyft is emerging," Risher said on the company's second-quarter earnings call in August, where it reported new highs for gross bookings, adjusted earnings, and free cash flow during its second quarter. "Not only are we consistently delivering for riders and drivers, but that customer obsession is producing record results quarter after quarter, and our momentum is building."All of that requires hiring the right people. In early September, Lyft had about 150 open positions listed on its website. Many of the jobs were in data analytics, data science, and software engineering.Work visa data shows that Lyft sought to hire 114 workers through the H-1B program in the first three quarters of this reporting year, which ran from October 1 to June 30, based on filings with the US Department of Labor. That's up from 70 for the same period in the previous reporting year.Lyft did not respond to a request for comment from Business Insider. Business Insider analyzed how much money companies from Apple to Walmart are paying for tech jobs and other roles. Explore salary data from America's biggest employers. Companies are required to submit this work visa data, including salary information, to the US Department of Labor for foreign hires. The compensation figures don't include equity or other benefits that employees can receive in addition to base pay. However, the salaries in the filings are benchmarked against industry average pay rates for similar roles and can give insight into what the company pays for those jobs.Here's a look at some of the annual salaries for Lyft jobs included in the disclosures:Data science positions can make as much as $300,000Data Science Manager: $176,000 to $300,000Data Scientist: $120,000 to $264,000Data Engineer: $130,250 to $222,000Software engineers can make as much as $300,000Software Engineer: $128,000 to $264,000Staff Software Engineer: $181,000 to $300,000Senior Software Engineer: $144,000 to $207,500Network Engineer: $115,000 to $165,000Engineering Manager: $148,000 to $264,000Data analytics and business intelligence jobs can make as much as $177,000Business Systems Engineer: $138,000 to $176,880Data Analyst: $118,000 to $177,000Product roles can make as much as $264,000Product Manager: $148,000 to $264,000Product Designer: $124,000 to $155,000Other positions can make as much as $222,000Actuarial Analyst: $108,000 to $192,000Designer: $99,360 to $222,000Senior Analyst: $123,280 to $207,000Financial Data Analyst: $90,000 to $162,000Business Insider has been collecting pay data for tech companies.
