Sky to acquire ITV's broadcasting and streaming arm for up to £1.6bn

Sky, owned by Comcast, has agreed to purchase ITV's media and entertainment division, including its free-to-air channels and ITVX streaming platform, for an initial £1.2bn plus a potential £200m. The deal aims to create a major competitor to global streaming services.
