Amateur Diver Discovers Ancient Roman Coin Off İzmir Coast

An amateur diver found a gold coin from the Byzantine Empire off the coast of Karaburun, İzmir. The coin, dating back to the reign of Emperor John Tzimiskes, features depictions of Jesus and the Virgin Mary. It has been handed over to the İzmir Archaeology Museum for evaluation.
