An İzmir court ordered Ali Mahir Başarır to pay AK Party Secretary-General Eyyüp Kadir İnan 110,000 lira in moral damages over remarks the court found violated his personal rights. İnan plans to donate the proceeds to the İHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation.
