France Authorizes Stun Grenades for October 17 Protests in Cases of Severe Urban Violence

Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez says police and gendarmes may use stun grenades during October 17 demonstrations if extremely serious urban violence occurs. Their use had been suspended during student protests after a teenager lost a hand.
