Germany: Federal Government and States Agree on Financial Reform to Aid Municipalities

The German federal government and state leaders have reached an agreement on a financial reform aimed at relieving municipalities. Under the new rules, the federal government will cover 80% of costs incurred by municipalities due to federal laws exceeding €200 million.
