Racial and religious hate crimes in England and Wales reach record highs

Hate crimes in England and Wales rose by 7% in the year ending March 2026, with offences against Muslims increasing by 15% and antisemitic crimes by 10%. Nearly 150,000 hate crimes were reported, highlighting a significant rise in racially and religiously motivated incidents.
