We really are 'so bored with the U.S.A'

It’s now almost 50 years since Joe Strummer told us that he was “so bored with the U.S.A.” on The Clash’s debut album. It remains, fair to say, all these years later, still a minority position. Certainly on radio where you can’t escape programming that is Atlanticist to its very bones. Monday alone saw two new Radio 4 series - Indispensable Relations, about the special relationship between the United States and Israel - and Matt Chorley’s Americast: 100 Days of Donald Trump, that were in thrall to America. 100 days.
