Apple Launches iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max in Turkey, Starting at 137,999 TL
Apple's new iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models have officially gone on sale in Turkey, with pre-orders beginning delivery. Pricing starts at 137,999 TL.
As of 23 October 2026, Apple's official Turkish store sells the iPhone 18 Pro from 137,999 lira (256GB), the iPhone 18 Pro Max from 149,999 lira and the foldable iPhone Duo, which went on sale in Turkey on 23 October, from 229,999 lira. At the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey's rate for that day, the base iPhone 18 Pro costs about $2,779 or €2,482 — about 1.7 times Apple's German price and 2.3 times its US price. Most of the gap is tax: a 50% special consumption tax (ÖTV), 20% VAT, a 12% TRT levy and a 1% culture ministry share. There is no standard iPhone 18 yet; Apple skipped it at its 9 September launch. A phone bought abroad avoids Turkish ÖTV and VAT but must pay a 54,258-lira IMEI registration fee in 2026, and new phones above 40,000 lira can be paid in at most three installments.

Sales of the Pro models began on 18 September 2026; all eight Pro and Pro Max prices match the list Cupure recorded on 18 October.
Apple did not launch a base iPhone 18 this autumn; The Verge and CNET reported that the standard model is expected next year. Older models remain on sale in Turkey on the same date: iPhone 17e from 72,999 TL (256GB), iPhone 17 from 99,999 TL (256GB) and iPhone Air from 122,999 TL (256GB). Operators also sell the new models: Turkcell began selling the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max in its stores and Pasaj online shop, with a trade-in campaign, Habertürk reported on 24 September.
Is the iPhone Duo available in Turkey, and at what price?
Yes. Preorders opened on 16 October and the first Turkish buyers collected their phones at the Apple Zorlu store in Istanbul on 23 October, Log and Teknoblog reported. The 256GB model costs 229,999 lira, about $4,632 at the day's rate, against $1,999 in the US and €2,299 in Germany. Supply is tight worldwide: Apple limited orders to two per customer in several markets, and delivery dates slipped to early 2027 within hours of the preorder opening, according to The Verge and ComputerBase.
How do Turkish prices compare with Germany and the US?
Converted at the Central Bank's 23 October 2026 selling rates (55.5997 lira per euro, 49.6540 lira per dollar), and compared with apple.com/de (19% VAT included) and apple.com/us (sales tax excluded): iPhone 18 Pro 256GB is 137,999 TL (≈ $2,779) vs €1,449 (≈ 80,560 TL) and $1,199 (≈ 59,540 TL); Pro Max 256GB is 149,999 TL vs €1,599 and $1,299; Pro 2TB is 243,999 TL vs €2,949 and $2,399; iPhone Duo 256GB is 229,999 TL vs €2,299 and $1,999; Duo 2TB is 335,999 TL vs €3,799 and $3,199. The Turkish premium over Germany falls as storage rises — about 71% for the base Pro, 49% for the 2TB Pro — but is larger on the Duo, about 80% for 256GB.
Why are iPhones so expensive in Turkey?
Phones are taxed in layers. A presidential decision published in the Official Gazette on 24 October 2025 (issue 33057) set three ÖTV bands for mobile phones by tax base: 25% up to 4,500 lira, 40% up to 9,000 lira and 50% above that, KPMG's tax bulletin summarised. Every iPhone 18 is far above 9,000 lira, so the 50% rate applies. Finansopia's summary of the rules adds a 12% TRT levy, a 1% Ministry of Culture and Tourism share and 20% VAT. If ÖTV is charged on a base that includes the TRT and culture shares and VAT is charged on top, the pre-tax price is multiplied by about 2.03.
On that basis — a Cupure estimate, because Apple publishes no Turkish cost breakdown — about 70,150 lira of the 137,999-lira iPhone 18 Pro is tax, leaving roughly 67,850 lira, or about €1,220. Apple's German price without its 19% VAT is about €1,218. Before tax the two are almost identical; nearly all of the gap is the Turkish tax stack. The lira adds a yearly step: the iPhone 17 Pro launched in Turkey in September 2025 at 107,999 lira, according to Tamindir, so the iPhone 18 Pro's starting price is 27.8% higher.
Is it cheaper to buy an iPhone abroad and pay the IMEI fee?
A phone bought abroad must be registered through e-Devlet to work on Turkish networks, and the registration fee must be paid first, at a tax office, the Revenue Administration's online service or a bank. The fee is 54,258 lira in 2026, under the fee schedules effective 1 January 2026, Forbes Türkiye and CNBC-e reported; it was 45,614 lira in 2025 and 131.50 lira in 2015. An unregistered foreign phone is cut off after 120 days, and each person may register one phone per three calendar years. Habertürk also notes that many brands do not honour their standard warranty in Turkey for phones bought abroad.
The saving depends on the model. A German iPhone 18 Pro 256GB (≈ 80,560 TL) plus the fee comes to about 134,820 lira — roughly 3,180 lira below the Turkish price, before travel costs. For a 2TB Pro Max the gap is about 29,400 lira, and for a 256GB iPhone Duo about 47,900 lira. Mustafa Kemal Turnacı, chairman of the phone retailers' association MOBİSAD, told ANKA that the advantage of buying abroad has largely disappeared and could vanish in 2027.
Can you buy an iPhone 18 in installments or refurbished?
A regulation published in the Official Gazette on 15 October 2026 (issue 33401) raised the limit for paying a new phone in 12 installments from 20,000 to 40,000 lira, the Ministry of Trade said; phones above 40,000 lira stay limited to three installments, so no iPhone 18 model qualifies for 12. Refurbished phones can be paid in 12 installments with no price limit. Credit-card and loan terms are set by the banking regulator BDDK. Operator contracts are a separate route: Turkcell advertised a 12-month contract option at the cash price for the iPhone 18 Pro, Habertürk reported.
What comes next for iPhone prices in Turkey?
On 3 November 2026 Turkey announces the revaluation rate that sets the 2027 IMEI fee from 1 January; Habertürk, citing economist Hakkı Hakan Yılmaz, put the fee at about 69,450 lira if the rate is near 28% and not reduced by presidential decision, as happened for 2026. The ÖTV bands are fixed in nominal lira until revised. Apple has reportedly accepted higher memory-chip costs from early 2027, which could lift prices, and a base iPhone 18 is reportedly expected in 2027. This page will be updated with each new Apple Türkiye price list and with the 2027 fee.
